Hi - Coming over from CodeIgniter where, the world seems so straight forward compared to EE tags :o)

I’ve been studying EE now for a little while and it occures to me that I can present most of the core channel data in using the pages model.

Are there any clear rules / advice as to when to use Pages and not to use pages. PLease assume I am not interested at this stage in doing fancy things like having captchas or RSS feeds etc. Just Dynamic text.

    Many thanks !

Hi Thanks - I have bought your book as well as the Mijingo tutorial. I will study this post carefully. I see the potential of EE in website design and building out. But unlike Wordpress or Joomla this requires some real study. I would not say it is a CMS in the usual sense. More a framework. However, unlike the CI framework where every page has to be individually crafted, I hope for some automation.

    Thanks ! Vincej
