Hi to all. I’m getting the following server error when using Ed Image resizer with Matrix, per the Matrix tutorial for creating image galleries:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 37748736 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 12288 bytes) in /webroot/f/l/flood001/primary/www/system/expressionengine/third_party/ed_imageresizer/pi.ed_imageresizer.php on line 325

    URL: http://floodcontrolam.com/index2.php/galleries

    EE v2.40
    Matrix v2.5

I’ve searched and found resolved topics that centered on the server PHP upload settings being too low. I’ve reset the upload_max_filesize to 128 mb, which *should* be enough.

    Any other ideas?

This is related to the amount of memory your PHP script is allowed to use. Check your php.ini memory_limit value and increase it to 128m and see if that works. If it still gives you an error try 200m and see if that works.

    Cheers,

    Mike

Thanks, Mike. My host will not increase the memory_limit. I guess that I will try using CE Image instead, which was also suggested on a previous post. I’ll update on how that goes.

    Cheers,
    Bryan

I switched to CE Image and am no longer experiencing the error. Thanks for the reply.

I’m experiencing same problem even after increased memory_limit to 512…
    Very annoying

I’d suggest using an image tool that has been maintained. ED Image Resizer hasn’t been touched in 3 years.

Yeah - I agree. Do you have something in mind that have no such issues?
    Except Lumis Image sizer 😊
