We are currently running EE 2.1.3. We are seeing really large spikes in CPU usage when just one person is browsing our site, all being attributed to “index.php”.
Obviously this isn’t really helping us get to the root cause of the problem, which must rest in the templates, but I’m looking for other solutions right now to help get this under control while we go through and optimize/debug templates.
In talking with some contacts I have, they suggested our host enable APC. What is your experience with APC, and will it help the problem that we’re seeing?
We’ve enabled template caching across the site, and have followed some other optimization tips from the various places on the web, but are still seeing really large loads. If you have any other ideas of what could be causing the problem, or what could help us, those suggestions are also welcome.
