I posted this in the read only ExpressionEngine 1 Tech Support section over the weekend and I really need to get this sorted!

The site will only display the home page and I have no idea where to start to get this fixed. If anyone can PM me I can go through it all.

I’ve upgraded the site to 1.6.9 (last version of 1 I have access to) so all the files are correct - but obviously something has gone wrong with the restore of the account.

    Hi Guys,
This is a weird one. I built an EE site about 2 years ago and everything was fine until the client accidentally deleted the account in their 1and1.co.uk control panel.
1and1 have restored the account but it’s not working properly.

The site displays the home page no matter what the url says. And there are errors appearing in the control panel.

Strict Standards: Non-static method Utilities::clear_cache_form() should not be called statically, assuming $this from incompatible context in “serverpath” on line 402

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Patricia

I am having a similar problem, A client has not updated the site for some time and now that they have added some fresh content all URL’s point back to the Home Page. I’ve trawled everywhere to try and find a solution but I’m getting zilch. Google is giving me nada and I can find no problems going over the sites Control Panel.

Not visited the EE site for a while and it seems changes are afoot. Alarmingly it would seem we now have to pay a subscription for support ? And everything just feels like EE v1 has been locked away in a dark place with little or no daylight :(

I don’t mind upgrading the site to v2 - with it not actually working I might even get paid to do so! But will that actually solve the problem?

Think that’s what I’m going to have to get my clients to do… can say for sure it will help but I really don’t work with v1 installs anywhere else these days so it’s better for me when it comes down to tracing problems. Odd that we have both had the same issue. However it should be noted that tonight 1and1 are having massive issues with their service right accross the board. CP hard to access , Homepage timeouts and peoples emails not working… that said I don’t feel its related.
Oh and all my v2 sites are having no problems (1and1 hosted also)

Im the same Guy btw just logged into a different account 😊

Thanks for your input (in both guises!) This is the only account I have on 1and1 so your information about their servers is very useful! perhaps co-incidentally there has been some kind of change or upgrade of the server at the same time as this account was accidentally deleted and then re-enstated.

I’ll try to upgrade and report back.

    Thanks!

I upgraded to v2 and the site started working again! Yippie!

Amazing that 1and1 couldn’t tell me if or when anything had changed on the server making the process of trying to figure out what needing fixing nearly impossible.

Yep worked for me also ! But the upgrade process was a pain because it had been left so long (from 1.6.7) between upgrades. Freeform required me to roll back changes so I could do a partial update before taking it to the current version Grrrr
Aw well all sorted now 😊
