Hi,

i use this method for my Site:
http://expressionengine.com/wiki/Multi_language_site_alternative/

The switch works perfect when i navigate in my subfolders:

http://www.domainxyz.com/de/index.php/templategroup/template…
and then click on “en” the english text is there.

But when i’m in the root:
http://www.domainxyz.com/index.php/templategroup/template…
and then click on “en” or “de” there is an error:
“The requested URL /de/templategroup/template was not found on this server.

What went wrong?

The problem is in the error:

/de/templategroup/template

Note the lack of index.php between “de” and “templategroup”.

How are your links being built in your templates on the root site?

One way around is to remove index.php from ExpressionEngine URLs.
