My Site menu in EE Control Panel is labeled with the correct default site (domain) name, but “status bar” in browser during rollover of Site button shows partial Control Panel URL (not just domain address) and links as follows….
    http://www.mydomain.com/admin.php?URL=

....and then bounces to localhost with this address:
    http://localhost/

MULTIPLE SITE MANAGER is not installed or active, and “index.php” is hidden. System directory is renamed.

Is this an .htaccess issue? I have the recommended .htaccess text as shown at:
    http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/general/remove_index.php.html

I have checked the config file, CP url, etc. I will be using MSM later, after I sort out this minor CP issue. Thanks in advance!

    Hi bmewhinney,

    Sorry for the confusion!

That value can be set for the site in Admin-> General Configuration - make sure your have the correct URL to your site as it is on the server and the URL to your /themes folder is correct.

You can also check /system/expressionengine/config/config.php and make sure the site’s URL is correct there as well.

    Cheers,

Howdy, Dan. My site’s “General Configuration” has the correct (domain) URL, and “URL to your /themes folder” is likewise correct. I also carefully checked /system/expressionengine/config/config.php.

The mystery here is that my control panel’s site-label button (upper right corner) appends “/admin.php?URL=” after the true site/domain URL, to produce link “http://www.mydomain.com/admin.php?URL=”.

    Any help appreciated! —Bruce

Howdy again. I thought best to comb through previous Forum Topics relevant to this Control Panel Site Label anomaly. Turns out that, even without Multiple Site Manager installed, my development site has encountered what is possibly an MSM BUG (eeek!):

In Bug Tracker, courtesy Etheya, Wes Baker, sm9 et al….
“Cant use the $config[‘site_label’] to override”
    https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/15461/

I need to install and use MSM ASAP but will patiently wait for the advice of my betters. I’m willing to do some code surgery but would prefer something more tidy, like replacing one specific PHP file with a new, improved, bug-proof version from EE Men In Black. Is this necessary and possible?

I’m running EE v2.5.3 - Build Date: 20120911, and Discussion Forum Module 3.1.9

    Thanks again!
