    Hello,
I started a client development site on a copy of a current/live site’s database. I redesigned the site and added several new channels and features. However, the client continued to make updates to the live site adding new entries for their events, news and press channels. What is the best method to export and update those entries to the development site database without it affecting the other work I have done?

(I’m a little handy with phpMyAdmin but I’ve never attempted this before so I thought I’d ask for advice.)

    Thanks!

I have used DataGrab successfully to get a client’s old non-EE website entries from their database and into their new EE site.  There were a few false starts, but it worked quite well in the end.

Otherwise, I would think as long as you did not remove any channels or fields that (theoretically) a basic export/import of the db should work.  I would at least do a test on a copy of the dev site and using phpMyAdmin or a DB admin tool like Navicat.

Thanks! I tried a direct import but phpMyAdmin gave me some errors. I ended up manually copy and pasting the entries and files over. Luckily there weren’t many!
