This is al part of my struggling to move my site from 1 to 2…

I am using the File field in my templates and this all works just fine for guests, and super admins - in other words not logged in or just logged in as super admin.

When I have a member logged in to any other group, they cannot see the contents of the file field.

I am not talking about the ability to upload files, just to see on the site.

Here is the site.

I am running v2.5.3 - Build Date: 20120911

This may have something to do with the safecracker file field, which I am not understanding..

Here is a bit of a template:

{if upload_file_epub}
Download the eBook in ePub format
{/if}

Where {upload_file_epub} is the file type field.

Any help would really make my day!

Bump.
Still struggling with this.

I spotted a few mentions of bugs in 2.5.3 that might relate, but here is a thing:
Before I upgraded I did have MSM, but I didn’t upgrade this - I don’t need it anymore.

Could this relate to this problem?

Please help!

Hi Chris,

I hate to see you’ve bumped into this bug!

Sorry for your wait. We do try to beat our Support Policy of 2 business days.

Indeed, you have found the bug report that is impacting you. If you post a comment on that report you’ll be notified of a fix. In the meantime, the workaround is to assign the affected groups upload privileges on that Upload Destination.

If you need anything else, please let me know!

Cheers,
