    I have a site in development that uses CartThrob. Everything was working fine until I turned on template caching in EE. The CartThrob cart in my sidebar stopped updating as well as the cart only page which uses it’s own individual template. I disabled template caching but the sidebar cart now doesn’t update until I load a completely different page. The cart only page doesn’t update at all. Not even a page refresh helps. I imagine something is still being cached. I have made sure Dynamic Caching is turned off, I’m not using Tag Caching, double checked the template files to make sure Template Caching is set to No and I have Cleared Caches in the Tools section of the Admin area and it still doesn’t work. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

    EE v2.5.3 and most current CartThrob v2.1.5

    Hi Ryan,

    If you’ve already turned template caching back off and cleared your caches in the CP, the only thing I can think that might still be causing this would be if clearing caches in the CP didn’t actually do it. Could you actually remove all the cache folders from your site’s filesystem via FTP? Find any folder in /system/expressionengine/cache/ and delete it. Then see if your cart updates like you expect. If it still doesn’t at that point, I’d recommend working directly with the folks who make CartThrob since they offer support specifically for their software.

    Cheers,

    Hi Kevin, thanks for the reply. I did as you suggested and deleted the folders in cache. As soon as I loaded the site again a folder called “page_cache” showed up again. Any thoughts on how to turn this off?

    Under Global Channel Preferences I have Cache Dynamic Channel Queries turned off.

    Under the Template Manager I have Enable Caching turned off on all templates.

    I have no Tag Caching enabled in my template code.

    Thanks for your time and help.

    Hrm- I can’t replicate.  Wonder if some template still has caching on.  Can you run this query in the query manager:

    SELECT * FROM exp_templates where cache != 'n'

    Let’s make sure nothing’s still set to cache.

    Thanks for that. Apparently I had cached a stash template that I missed. That query was magical.

    😉  The joy of queries.  Glad you got it squared away- and if you run into any more issues, just let us know!
