    I have seen a lot about this in the forums but cannot come up with a clear answer. Is it possible to orderby a custom date field? I’m in EE 2.3.1. An update is not ideal as this is a live site, but let me know if this is the only fix. My channels loop is:

    {exp:channel:entries limit="10" channel="news_events" category="2" paginate="bottom" show_future_entries="yes" disable="member_data" orderby="event_start_date" sort="asc" dynamic="no"  }

    And the output is here:
    http://diversity.upenn.edu/news_events/events/

    The event_start_date field is the first date listed under each item, and is definitely not being ordered by. Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

    I’m certainly happy to see you’ve sorted it out, but would you care to share your solution? Might help other along in the future!
