    Hi Support,

I got strange issues with the standard & recommended tags:

    {if logged_in} or {if member_group = '1'}

    They are not working properly.

I found a clue which might be helpful for others with the same issue:

As soon as I put on “Admin / Security & Privacy / Cookie Settings”
And I set “Cookie Path” to my value, I ran into this issues.

    Hi Komtur,

And I set “Cookie Path” to my value, I ran into this issues.

That’s not generally recommended unless you have a need to specify a path. Can you clear that value and report if everything is back to normal?

For the most part, you can leave all cookie values empty and let ExpressionEngine set them dynamically.

What version of ExpressionEngine are you using?

    Cheers,

If it’s cleared it was working. That’s why I posted this behavior.
I need this value since I run multiple instances of EE on my staging/ development System.

nope. You will be logged out on the other system on the same machine.
It’s also not clear (by documentation and the description of the EE) if you need to start with a slash or not for the system path. With “/folder” it seems to work, without (path ist simply named “folder”) I was running into this issues.

    2.5.0, 2.5.2 and 2.5.3

It’s better to set a prefix for the Cookie than a path. As stated in the Control Panel:

    Cookie Prefix
Use only if you are running multiple installations of this program

... if you need to start with a slash or not for the system path. With “/folder” it seems to work, without (path ist simply named “folder”) I was running into this issues.

I’m not sure I follow you here. Are you referring to the Cookie path? It would be a full server path to a writable folder. But like I said, this is actually a use-case for the Cookie prefix option.

Set a prefix for each of your installs that is unique to the install. You should be good to go after that.

    Cheers,
