Not sure if this is a REALLY dumb question, but I can’t seem to find where I can override a members entry statuses (in the CP). As a super admin, I would expect to be able to change to ‘open’ or ‘closed’ any entry on any channel, but it appears I can’t do that. I can update my own entry statuses, but no other members (who are all in ‘members group’. Members have usual permissions to post, edit their own, delete their own, and control their own entry status. (It’s enabled in the CP btw, just doesnt update when I select ‘closed’, for example.)

So, what am I missing? I’m sure I could do this before, just not now. I’m still on EE 2.1.3 for this site (I know, I know…), but I’m pretty sure this was working a while back.

Sorry but Im really stuck on this so would be great to get a response from someone. I realise it might be something really simple that I’m missing, but i havent come across this problem before. On other EE sites I could always (as super admin) control other authors published items.

I need to - as a super admin - be able to close and open all other (member) authors posts. Currently I cannot do this. I have tried changing all the permissions in the channel settings, as well as tried to add myself to the memebr group, which I dont seem to be able to do. I also cannot see a full list of super admin priveliges, so cannot see or edit what those are.

(To show Im not a total dunce) I checked what is listed in the ‘exp_member_groups’ table in the DB, to see what was listed for super admins (id 1) - and ‘can_assign_post_authors’ is marked ‘y’. So, in theory I should be able to do this. But I can’t.

At the risk of having a conversation with myself, I thought I’d post to say I have resolved the issue.

I went into the database and refreshed many of the relevant exp_member_group table fields for the members group, then cleared the cache in my site, logged out and in, as well as made sure my super admin was returned to ‘locked’ status, as it had become unlocked. The issue of unlocking the super admin group (with no facility to lock again, and how to resolve this was discussed here), and may possibly have caused or in part caused the other problem (I’ve no clue, they could be related in some way).

    Anyhow, it’s working now.

    Hey boshell,

I am sorry that we were unable to get with you before you figured this out. Nice work troubleshooting.

Is there anything else I can help with?

    Cheers,
