    Hi guys,

I have a client who has asked for EE on a new website that I will be designing. I have a strong knowledge of Wordpress however this will be my first EE project.

I was wondering a couple of things:

When starting this project, is the best course of action is to design and code the website completely THEN start integrating EE? Or should I look at integration EE when I begin coding the design?

Also, I may or may not be developing the site as a responsive website with media queries etc. Will EE be just as easy to integrate into a responsive site as would a normal website? I would rather avoid headaches at the beginning of this project.

Thanks heaps and looking forward to using EE for the first time.

    Hey there Everlongdrummer,

First, welcome to the ExpressionEngine forums! Glad to have you here.

Second, thank you for your interest in ExpressionEngine, if you are coming from WordPress, you are really going to appreciate the flexibility of ExpressionEngine. The first thing you will notice about ExpressionEngine is that we assume nothing of your content and we do not force you into anything. Think of ExpressionEngine as a blank canvas for which to design and code, because it really is.

You can design and then throw your design into ExpressionEngine or you can do it along the way. It’s going to be the same either way. ExpressionEngine really does not require you to use a certain workflow.

Non-responsive, responsive, media, you can even have the templates output as PDF. There are no headaches involved here because we assume you just have content and give you full control over how you wish to handle that.

You are asking really good questions. Keep them coming! I am here if you need anything.

    Cheers,
