    Hi,

I’ve just bought EE1 to EE2upgrade (commercial) and tried to install 2.5.2 on my debian 6.0 server. There’s everything installed (apache2, mysql-server-5.1, php5, php5-gd, etc.) and everything in it’s default configuration, so EE should work out of the box.

After visiting admin.php and entering the required information, I’m looking at a white page. The database user/passwd/host etc are all correct, so that’s not it either.

    Please help,
    Felix

    Hey there phelex,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this snag.

Let’s turn on debugging to see if we can get some more information about where things are at.

Do that, please follow this small article on the subject.

Please let me know how that goes.

    Cheers,

I did turn on debugging … how come that is not on by default. I’d rather turn it off once everything is ok 😉
Anyways, seems moving now, once I chose new db name (3 characters)
What db names are acceptable? Is there a character limit?

    Hey phelex,

The character limit is over 100 I believe. I think minimum is 3.

    Cheers,
