Hi,

Just looking for a bit of assistance.  I have a safecracker form on my site that is collecting channel entries submitted by my members.

I have set it up that so that if a user is logged out, the submit button is disabled, and there is an alert box at the top of the form advising that they need to be logged in to submit the form.

However, I have still had users that are not logged in, start filling out all the form, and then realise they need to be logged in, however when they do then login it return them to the form, but all the fields are empty, and they have to start again.

Is there a way to save what they already filled in, so that once they then log in, they don’t have to re-input all the fields again?

Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.

This may be possible with some JavaScript, but why do you not just hide the form until the user logs in?

I want to display the form, as its a big part of the site, and it will give prospective non members an idea of what there is to fill in. Thinking about it I guess i could create a conditional where if the user is not logged in, all my form fields are disabled (using twitter bootstrap elements) so that might be an easier idea.

Agreed, form fields disabled make a lot more sense. Better workflow.
