Had a problem spring up today, a client’s site won’t load on the front end but the control panel is just fine.  No changes that I can spot made to the files on the server, and the host is saying there haven’t been any changes on their end either—any advice on where to look next? The site is running 2.5.2.  I’ve checked the system path and it is correct.

If I try to load a site page, I get this error on Firefox, and similar error on IE:

    The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
      moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network
      connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

In case this helps anyone else, the host found out that the site was getting FCGI errors in the error log; PHP was running as an Apache module and when the host flipped it back to FCGI, magically everything came up.  Had a good hunch it wasn’t Expression Engine-related!

    Hi Karen,

I am glad that you were able to find the solution. It sounded server related.

    Nice work!

If you need anything else, please just let me know by opening a new thread.

    Cheers,
