    Hello,

I hear great stories about ExpressionEngine and its endless possibilities. I have viewed a number of videos about this system and I am very excited about ExpressionEngine.

I have some questions about the system. We are a very small company where we do small projects. The system appears to meet all our requirements but I don’t understand the Channels and Layouts story.

Secondly we would like to know if the purchase price of $ 299.95 is only once per project and how long you are entitled to free updates and support?

    Thanks for answering our questions.

    Sincerely,
    Ricardo

Not really sure what you are asking - but channels are layout-agnostic storage containers for content (think database tables) and layouts are stored in templates (and other spots).  Templates are a combination of HTML, CSS, JS etc but also hold EE code that pulls content from Channels.

    Hey Ricardo,

I’m glad you’re excited about EE! Have you gotten a chance to see the Getting Started video on EE? It lays out the basics, including introducing you to Channels, Templates, and how they work together.

Yes, each license is good for one project/site, and you’re entitled to all updates to the major version of EE that you purchased. (You’ll be purchasing EE 2, so all the updates to EE 2 come free.) The license doesn’t expire, so you can use it as long as you like. You can read the particulars on the license here.

Thank you both for the information. I am watching the video right now and will buy EE afterwards.

    Regards.
