Javascript interaction with EE

    I realise that this is going to sound like pretty super-basic question, but can javascript affect the EE tags in a template? I mean, like inserting parameters, adjusting conditionals, changing channel selections, that sort of thing.

    I’m assuming that it can’t, since the EE page assembly is, as I understand it, handled on the server before the page ever gets to the browser where javascript gets to do its thing. So I would think that the best Javascript can do is to act upon the output of EE’s page assembly process. But it never hurts to double check these things, right?

    Thanks as always;
    Rick

    No - as you suspect EE is server side, javascript is client side.

    Use all the javascript/jquery you want in your rendered page, but that’s all well after EE is done.

    Thought so, just wanted to double check that I wasn’t being peculiarly dense. In any case, I’ve just been reading up on dynamic_parameters which will provide much of the same kind of functionality. BTW Mike, your EE2 book is proving utterly invaluable. Top work sir!
