    Hi,

I recently upgraded a client site to 2.5.2 and I’m noticing that the box that normally displays when I click on a file upload field as a javascript overlay is displaying at the bottom of the control panel underneath the accessory bar. If I try to use a file field or link to a file in wygwam and I click the link to bring up the file manager the javascript popup displays allowing me to browse for files, but then if I click the upload button to upload a new file the button doesn’t work. I’m guessing that is because the box is already displaying. I ran updates on a couple of client sites and this one seems to be the only one with a problem, so if anyone can point me to where I can look to fix this I’d appreciate it.

    Thanks!

    Brian

Here’s a little more info, it looks like the the dropdowns on the main menu are also non-functional. It seems like maybe jquery is not working in the control panel?

    Hi Brian,

That does indeed sound to me like that’s the problem. Did you make sure to upload the latest themes folder on your update? Are you seeing any JavaScript errors in your browser’s console?

    Hi Kevin,

I re-uploaded the themes folder just to make sure and the problem is still there. I then checked the javascript console and it says there is an uncaught syntax error in index.php.

    It says unexpected token u

Think it might be best to have a first-hand look at this one, then. Be on the lookout for an email from me.

Just posting a note here to let onlookers know that we’re working with Brian privately on this for the time being. I’ll post an update back here once we have something to share!

    Hi jungho kim,

Are you running the latest version EE? (That’s 2.5.3 at this time.) Could you make sure you’ve got a fresh copy of the themes folder from your version of EE uploaded to your site? That’s usually the cause here. If you’ve done that and it doesn’t take care of it, we’ll need to hop in there to take a look at it.

hi kevin, thanks for your response.

i was able to eliminate the problem by completing updates to all of the plugins – it was the tag module from sol space that was the culprit and after updating the issue is no longer present.

for the record, re-uploading the themes folder had no effect.

    thanks again!
