    Hi all,

I am quite new to Expression Engine (I’ve come on board with a background using Drupal to help out with launching a website which was built using EE) and hope someone can help me with an EE query.

When adding ‘Supporting Images’ to a page, i.e. clicking on ‘Add Image’, the File Manager appears - all well and good.

However, when I click on ‘Assets’, the available files do not appear to be sorted in any particular way making it difficult to find a particular image.

So my question: Is there a way to sort the Assets list?

Also, within the File Manager, is there a way to search for a particular file? (Ideally with wildcards, for example, searching for *stone*.jpg to bring up a list of all jpg files containing the word ‘stone’ in the filename.)

    Thanks,
    Andrew

I am using Pixel & Tonic’s Assets on a photography site and find it to be a nice improvement over the native file manager.

@boldyellow, does Pixel & Tonic’s Assets has file search facility?

Yes, you can search for part of a file name and the image comes up.  But I was unable to make the wildcard work… might just be me.

Thanks a lot.. is that mean, it can search “keywords” in file name.. but not “*” stuffs?

For example, one file is named “KhabrimDiallo-Late-Night-Trek-fall-show-2011.jpeg”...  so if I just search for “Trek” it comes up.

But using wildcards “*” doesn’t work for me… you may check with P&T on that functionality.

    Thanks for your replies.

So I take it, the basic install cannot search for assets within the File Manager?

i.e. an add-on module needs to be purchased for this functionality?
