    Hi,

I just moved us from Rackspace Managed Hosting to Rackspace cloud sites.  Everything seems to work great, except for when users on slow connections try to upload images.  The Rackspace Cloud Sites load balancers have a hard 30-second timeout, and many times the users get a “connection reset” error message when trying to upload, specifically into a Matrix of Images.

We have updated all of the php timeout and upload size limits in our htaccess file, and Rackspace has confirmed that everything is as it should be in there.

They pointed us to this blog post (http://www.cloudsitesrock.com/?ac=post&id=9&uid=1&p=0&cat=6&m=0&y=0) to explain how we could keep the browser/load balancer from timing out, but I’m not sure how or where or what to fix in Expression Engine code to make this work.  Or, is there a third party upload module that works in this way?

    Thanks so much,
    Stephen

ok, I got more information from Rackspace.  The server simply needs to send back some sort of data to the client at maximum every 30 seconds.  So, for the example I linked to above, the server is sending back an additional ‘.’ character every second.

Is there a way to get the uploader for EE to do something like this?  Or is there a third party uploader that can be used to accomplish this?

Here is another link they sent me: http://www.rackspace.com/knowledge_center/content/connection-timed-out-error

    Thanks,
    Stephen
