I’ve got a site running 2.4.0 which up until now has had no problems recognizing changes made to flat files. However now when I make a change to the flat file it will not be recognized on the front end of the site until I open the template in the CP and save it or use the syncronize templates option.
Clearly this is impacting development and is not working as expected. Solutions?

I’m sorry for your inconvenience!
It may have something to do with this bug, if you haven’t already applied that fix. The report mentions PHP in templates, but I have seen this bug without PHP in play.
If you have applied that fix, let me know and we’ll dig deeper.
