I would like to set up an alert system page for the public based on your application,  I would need it to: be able to be hosted on our current domain; be customized to fit our current CSS; be able for people not only to register as a user, but be able to subscribe to specific feeds (i.e. the user would receive an alert, the text of a post, if they are subscribed to route 82, 75, and 100); the alerts would go out by email for the feeds that are picked; it would also need to be able to syndicate all of the posted alerts to a RSS feed (e.g. routes 67, 23, and 100 are moved); it is also necessary for the alerts (posts) to be deleted after a certain period of time, or to be able to be posted at a future date;

Can your product accomplish the above?  If so, what modules would be needed?

EE can certainly handle what you describe. Member registration and RSS feeds are available out-of-the-box!

Each of your “routes” can be a separate channel, and each channel can have its own syndicated feed. With MX Notify Control, users can chose to subscribe for updates and be automatically notified when new entries are added, etc.

Channel entries can have a set expiration date, or you can use Auto Expire to set a default time limit for new entries to expire.
