Very new to EE…. was asked to try and fix an EE based site.

Notice that the navigation text is missing…
It is also missing on the blog page:

Is there a simple place I can look for that and fix the issue?

Hard to diagnose what your issue could be exactly just looking at the front end. Any chance you could post your template code? In the two examples you cited, it would be two different templates, in all likelihood - a homepage temate (the template group used for the home page regardless of its name, would be identified in bathe control panel with an asterisk next to it) and likely a blog template. When you post your template code, wrap it with
to ensure that it displays correctly here in the forums.
