I’ve set up a membership group that I want to be able to edit, delete, and approve comments only on their own entries.  I’ve selected all the options that seem to apply, but when I login as one of those members, an “Unauthorized” error occurs whenever I click on a comment-related function in the control panel.

I know there are some methods for front-end comment moderation, and I plan to implement that too, but for now I’m really looking for a way for these users to moderate comments from the control panel.  What privileges do I need to grant their membership group in order to do that?

    Thanks,

    Matthew

Comments are in a module, so if you go to the bottom of your member group preferences, double check that you have given the group permissions access the comments module - that’s what I suspect it might be.

That’s what I thought too - but I had that option enabled (as well as granting CP access to modules). It still gave the “you don’t have permission” error when trying to click the comment links from the CP homepage.

I guess I could always do the “grant all permissions, then remove one-by-one until failure” routine, but was hoping someone here would have the solution as that process could be costly in terms of time. 😉
