Problems when upgrading from 2.4 to 2.5.2

I have tried to update a current EE install that was running 2.4 with the newly released 2.5.2. After uploading all of the necessary files outlined in the documentation, I initiated the updating process. After, the page would go white with no status updates. I have removed the files and uploaded them twice with the same result.

Any known issues with this? Thanks ahead of time for a quick response.

    Hello dniccum,

Welcome to the forums! I am glad that you are here!

I am not sure if there is a known issue here, but it’s definitely a problem.

Did you run the Server Wizard before attempting the upgrade? If not, can you do that now? Just want to make sure nothing major has changed, even though a bump from 2.4 to 2.5.2 should be just fine.

It sounds like the update failed. I would try again and use a different browser this time. It could be a browser issue, or something much more ominous. But a roll back and retry should work.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the reply Shane. I tried reinstalling it and the same thing happened. However, I went ahead and deleted the install file from the the new install of EE and everything worked. So it must have had something to do with the Javascript redirect.

I also noticed one more thing. When I login in to the control panel, the footer tells says that I am running a 2.5.2 version of EE, but I am getting a dropdown notification that I am not using the current version of Expression Engine and I need to re-download and install. Looks like it is just a bug.

    Hey Doug,

Bummer, but I am glad things are working!

You are right. You are on the latest version.

You can disable the dial home script in the Control Panel if you would like Under Admin->General Configuration.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Cheers,
