    Hi,

I am trying to create a site with brand directory. The structure i have been asked to implement is a tad confusing but also makes sense. I am struggling to see how i create this with ee…

Site users will be able to refine this directory in the following ways:

    BRAND (A-C, D-F etc)
    DEPARTMENT
    CATEGORY
    LOCATION
    STORE

Users should be able to see all brands a-z
Users should also be able to search (text search) by any of the above options

    e.g
Brand | Location | Store | Department | Master Category
    jelly | GFloor   | null | Beauty   | Cosmetics

    im stuck, any thoughts?

I would have a look at the User and SuperSearch modules from Solspace.com. I used them to create an advanced search function, using user categories, which worked quite well.

    Hey DanielQ,

I think PositionOne is on to something. Using categories you could search with Super Search. Out of the box ExpressionEngine does not search categories.

I can also move this over to the Community Help Forum to get some more eyes on this.

Please let me know what you think!

    Cheers,
