Is there a built in tool to export data from 1.x into 2.x? I would also like any suggestions on plug-ins or modules to export data that you might recommend.

So basically—I’m looking for an easy solution to xport my data from EE 1.7 so I can put it in a new installation of EE 2.5 on a new server.

You can follow this Moving ExpressionEngine to Another Server guide to better help with the process.
Most users have success with exporting the data from one DB and importing the data into the new DB. Can you give that a try?
