My client is a large office with only Windows Machines. They have a 2.4 EE site, that works beautifully on my Mac, in all browsers, but apparently when they go to do a file upload (standard file upload field - no bells or whistles), they get a “file could not be written to disk” error. I had no problems on the Mac, even logged in at the user level, but when I tried in Windows, I got the same error, in both IE and Firefox.
All members/Admin have file upload access.
All file upload directories are set to CHMOD 777.
I’ve seen people suggest turning off XSS filtering, but from looking at the examples of how to do that, it would appear that mine is already set to “false” in the PHP. Even so, that doesn’t sound like a good long term solution.
Has EE looked into why this would be happening in the Windows environment? Needless to say, it’s not going to work to have my client unable to upload files - the whole point of using ExpressionEngine was so the client could easily, and securely make changes to their content. Without file upload capabilities, this project is a bust.
Whatever help could be offered would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
