    Hi there,

I want to build a classifieds-site, that ideally has all of the following features:

    1. Users can post entries via frontend.
    2. Entries expire automatically - e.g. 1 week after being published.
    3. User-Dashboard to get an overview of active and expired entries per user.
    4. Allow users to re-publish expired entries or save ad-templates for future ads.
    5. Possibility to temporarily deactivate/unpublish entries or put on hold.

Now, not all of these features are must-haves and I’ve already found some plugins for some of them, like “auto expire”.

The most important point is having users billed once per month or maybe even before being allowed to post. So if you know how to achieve something like this, I’d be happy to hear about your approach.

Recommendations of free or commercial plugins would also be great!

    Thanks a lot!

I just finished a site a few weeks ago with most of those features: http://clarasmom.com

The only plugin I used was LogMeIn, and that’s because we didn’t want to require user accounts. If you want paid memberships in order to post ads, then you’ll need something like CartThrob to step in and handle credit card processing. And for recurring bills, Membrr is the only available third-party add-on I know of that can do that.

CartThrob could do pay-per-post, just not the recurring monthly accounts.

    Hi Heiko,

Based on your requirements of :

It seems that you would like to have recurring subscription so Membrr module would be great for you. Also you should use “Channel/Weblog Protection” feature of membrr module. In this, you can restrict the member to post a fixed number of entries/ads upon a subscription. For more detail you can look at membrr’s Channel/Weblog Protection doc.

    Best Regards,

Thanks guys, I will look more into your suggestions later on.

That sounds pretty awesome! It would be great to have optional memberships though.

    Thanks again!
