I just came across a very strange problem that I’ve never encountered before on an EE 1.7.2 site that otherwise works perfectly.

There is one specific entry that I tried to edit today and after making changes and clicking the “update” button, instead of the usual screen I’m taken to what looks like a publish/edit screen but there is no content on it at all.

Please see screenshot of the screen I get after I try to save.

The funny thing is the URL:

    index.php?S=0&C=edit&M=new_entry

    “new_entry”?

Needless to say, my changes are not saved. The entry is stuck on its current content with no way to update it. It doesn’t matter if I edit the content or leave it exactly as it is. Whenever I hit the “update”, or for that matter the “quick save” button I get this weird blank page and no changes saved.

This only happens on ONE entry, as far as I can tell. I opened up some other entries and edited them and they were able to update fine as normal!

What would cause this one entry to stop working? I’m completely baffled ;-(

    Any ideas?

    Hi benek,

What is the entry’s ID and URL Title? - The url is very odd.

Do you have any third-party add-ons that change URLs installed?

    Cheers,

Hi Dan thanks for the reply.

    The entry ID is: 2581

    URL title is: absolute-perfection

I don’t think there are any add-ons that would be changing the URLs. I use Structure for some parts of the site but not used here. I use .htaccess to remove index.php.

Like I said it’s only this one entry that has a problem as far as I can tell, and there is nothing that I can see that’s different about it than any others that work fine.

Certainly odd! Let’s get in for a closer look. Be on the look out for an email from me!
