    Hi all ...

Very new to EE and have just constructed my second site ...... However the homepage is only showing entries when the URL is ../index.html ... if you enter on ../ it only shows the includes and static info.

What have I got wrong???  Sure it is something simple??

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for your question! Welcome to ExpressionEngine and the Forums!

It may be something simple, indeed. Can we get a look at your template?

Also, I’m a but confused by “index.html” - by default ExpressionEngine doesn’t use or need “.html” in its URLs - can you explain how it begin used here?

    Cheers,

    Hi Dan ....

I have actually solved it ..... it was solved by adding ‘dynamic=“no”’ ..... however, I am slightly unsure why this should make a difference so perhaps you may be able to help??

I was affectively adding entries (images only) to a Nivo slider but the slider would originally only work (without the above addition) when you added the .html to the url .... again ... any light you may shed on this would be much apprecieted?

Otherwise, loving EE and slowly getting to grips with it all!

    Hey matt.lovejoy,

The dynamic=off is best explained here.

Your second question is concerning absolute and relative paths. I am not clear on what you did to resolve it, but when you use ../ and ./ you are talking about using relative paths which will change depending on what directory you are in. It sounds like you maybe changes to absolute, which will work no matter what directory you are in.

    Does that help?

    Cheers,
