    Hello Steve,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem.

The links across the top can be effected by two things, themes and language packs.

Can you upload your themes and languages again and double check the folder permissions. Can you also check to see if you have any Add-Ons that are used in the Control Panel and if you do, please update those to the latest version.

I would backup your database before moving forward, just to have a reference point to roll back to in case anything happens.

    Cheers,

    Hi Shane,

Uploaded the themes and language again but still no links. Using the “Quick Link Manager” (which does work) I managed to get to add-ons. I have uninstalled all the third party add-ons.

    But still nothing working.

    Anymore idea’s?

    Hey Steve,

Can you tell me how these are not working? Do they lead to a 404 page?

Are the links and JS not working so you can not even get to the links?

    Please let me know.

A screen shot would be cool too.

Are you using any Control Panel themes?

    Thank you,

    Hi shane,

The following link is a screen recording so you can see what happens. I created a quick link to modules, this works.

I notice from your video that all the nav buttons are square. It seems like EE uses javascript to give the rounded styling they normally have and there is javascript at play for the nav in general. I know Shane suggested checking your themes folder in your installation and I would double check that /themes/javascript/compressed/cp is there for sure.

The next thing to check might be your paths in admin > general configuration try adding &D=cp&C=admin_system&M=general_configuration to the end of your CP url after the session number and see if that gets you there directly. Check that the paths are correct and I know the odd time I have heard of some addons having cross site scripting issues by having path set to an absolute like http://www.mysite.com/themes/ and then accessing the site without the www in the CP caused issues. Bit of a stab in the dark if that is the issue or not but you can either force a www rewrite in an htaccess file or just set the url to /themes/

    Hey Steve Fairhurst,

    A few things.

    1. Are you using an .htaccess file? If so, move that aside for now.
    2. As a part of the upgrade process we ask that you clear the ExpressionEngine cache. Have you done this? You may need to clear out the cache folder in your case.
    3. Paths, I know you checked, can you show me what you have for paths and a screen shot of FTP showing perms?

    Thanks,

    Hi Shane,

htaccess removed & cache cleared, still nothing I have checked all the permissions to make sure they are correct.

    Hey Steve,

Le sigh. This is a tough one.

Time to take a look. Please be on the lookout for an email from EllisLab.
