I have RTE working on a NP version of EE and it works well except the button for adding an image is missing. All the others are there and work fine. I had no trouble with this in FL version (all buttons appear and work fine) where I took all of the same steps. Any ideas why one button alone would fail to show? All I can think is some kind of glitch during install.

Hi padrelar,
Are you accessing the RTE from the front-end or the control panel? The Image button is currently only available inside the control panel.

It is when I am logged into the Control Panel to publish or edit. I am not familiar with another option.

Hi padrelar, in that case can you confirm the following:
1) You have created at least one valid file upload location (preference)
2) You have the Image button in the toolset you’ve chosen in My Account
3) Which browser you’re using, and if you’re receiving any Javascript errors in it.

1. more than one actually one for images alone another for all file types
2. yes, even when I overtly create a toolset and add the button- same result
3. no errors register in the console using firefox 12.0 on Windows 7 64bit
same result in Chrome 19.0.1084.46 m, Opera 11.62.
but seems to work in IE9.0.8112.16421

One more question for you, padrelar.
Is it possible you are accessing the control panel via a domain that is different from what is specified in General Configuration?

I go to the site_url listed in the General Configuration with an admin.php appended on the end.

It looks like it’s just an issue with the site_url for me. The image icon works without the www but not with. So I’m good.
