    Is this possible?

    {encode="[email protected]" target="_blank"}

    Hi Bryan,

    Did you try it? 😉

According to the User Guide, the only parameter supported on the encode global variable is title=”“

Since the use of {encode} is to obfuscate email address, a target parameter wouldn’t really do anything since clicking an email link general spawns a new message in the user default email application.

Is there anything else I can assist you with?

    Cheers!

    Of course I tried it… 😜

But it didn’t work, so I thought there might be some other solution.

The problem arises if the user has a web based email client as their default (Gmail for example) which when they click an email link opens that link in same window. Adding target=“_blank” to a standard “mailto:” link gets around the problem.

Oh well, no worries, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something.

    Cheers!

    Hey Bryan,

You would be surprised how many folks just ask blindly. It’s nice to see someone take the time to still experiment!

But, sounds like you have an excellent need for a Feature Request.

If you want, I can just move this over there?

    Cheers,

Sounds good. Not a huge issue though, but it would be a nice addition sometime in the future.

    Thanks again,
    Bryan
