Are the update instructions still valid for 2.5.0?

    Hello guys,

Hope you are well. It’s been a while since I posted here. I hope we’ll make more use of EE for future ventures now that the documentation has improved and the rich text editor has finally been introduced. Can’t wait to try it actually.

Still, coming from the old documentation which was a “bit” incomplete / inaccurate, I just want to make sure I do the right things and would like to ask if the update instructions found here http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/installation/update.html are valid for a 2.4.0 -> 2.5.0 upgrade?

    Many thanks in advance! 😊

Yes the update instructions in the docs are still applicable for 2.5.

Remember to make sure the Comments module is installed before upgrading, that was an issue in easrlier versions 😊

Thanks very much for your answer and for the tip about the comments module. 😊

I’m now reading few posts of people having problems with the 2.5.0 update. No answers from the team as yet. Maybe we should hold fire for a bit? What’s the deal with the Rich Text Editor?

The RTE is not working after the update for me.  Not sure why.

I have installed 2.5.0 locally and I have no problem with the Rich Text Editor. Played around for just few minutes, but everything seems to work just fine. Will attempt an update of my live 2.4.0 installation.

    Hope this helps.

I just tested as well.  RTE is not working on Windows IIS servers for some reason.  I opened a bug report.

    Hey svedish,

Looks like I showed up late for the party.

I second the answer given by Rob. Instructions are good to go!

@bgarrant - I see that you have a new thread started, we will be getting to that shortly.

If you need anything else svedish, please open a new thread.

    Cheers,
