    Hello
I could need some advice on what to choose to have a function/feature that is like a cross between Twitter and a full forum. My client want to be able to “post” short messages that could be comment on. Personally, I think a full feature forum is overkill (and to much work for the visiter to use?). But on the other hand, a twitter-style message board might be differcult to manage when (if?) there are hundreds of messages…?
To leave a comment you must be logged in with your social id.

Any advice will be helpful 😉

    Regards, Magnus

    Hello Magnus,

Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.

I am really not aware of such a thing. What pops into my head is a blog. A blog is less than a forum and more than random limited letter count statements.

I am going to move this over to the Community Help Forum where I think you may find a few more ideas.

    Thank you,

I’m thinking you might be able to start on this with a combination of one of the social login add-ons and SafeCracker for the client message posts.  If you set your channel preferences such that a user must be a member to post a comment, then you’ve really accomplished the majority of what you’re looking to accomplish.

    Thanks!
I will ask the client for some more information – and maybe do a quick-and-dirty example. He have talked also about a blog, maybe it is better to combine this…

    Best regards, Magnus
