I have quite a few websites where my clients are selling products from many different brands. When entering the product entries though, we tend to leave the brand name out of the entry title, and instead ‘categorise’ the entry by it’s brand name in a ‘Brand’ category group.

Now the problem comes from a management POV when viewing a list of entries in the EE CP that the titles are without the brand name in them. What I want is the ability to display the entry title in the EE CP with the brand name before it.

    e.g. ‘X100’ becomes ‘ACME X100’ when listed.

I guess from a front-end in POV it would also be nice to have something like {title_extended} that has the normal title plus the brand name with it, but that’s not so much of a problem as I can do this in templates with a bit more code.

Is this something that could be easily done using either an extension/accessory? I’m no addon developer, so not even sure how long/much something like this would cost to write either.

BTW, the reason for keeping the brand name out of the entry title is that when doing up the templates, there’s many situations when I need to be able to set up the actual brand name as a hyperlink to say a category listing of just that brand, as many times the products could be accessed via many different category group listings (materials, rating, industry, size).

    Have a look at this add-on http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/zenbu
it greatly expands on what the control panel can show.

Thanks for that. It looks like it would certainly help, but could be overkill (and my only option). Will have to see if I can get Low to support it with his Low Reorder addon too.
