    Hi,

I’m relatively new to EE and had a couple of questions that I am struggling to find a answer for, I have searched but forgive me if someone has already done this before.

I’m used to Wordpress and the option to simply add a caption to an image once its uploaded. This doesnt seem to be a core function in EE and a site I have been working on uses the WYGWAM editor which also doens’t have this either. Anyone have a simple solution on how to achieve image captions?

    Cheers

    George

There are various meta fields available to you when you upload a file with the native EE file manager that you could certainly use for this purpose.  There isn’t one specifically labeled “caption” but there are others, such as description and credit that could certainly be used for that purpose. They are then variables available to you in your template.  You access these fields with the “edit file” button you see in the uploader dialog box after you have uploaded the file.
