I’m a developer all my developing and work online direct,
I build my client site on a dummy domain like myxyz.com and after finishing the site I transfer and publish it on the real domain.

what can I do with this scenario with the license?

transfer the site and delete the test?

is the license join with the first domain?

what is the correct road in my condition?

    Kind regards,
    Hany

    Hi Hany,

Just checked the EE license and it says:

“An ExpressionEngine license purchase allows a single “live” installation in a production environment and ancillary “development use only” installations as needed to support the live installation (such as development and a staging servers). Additional installations require additional license purchases.”

I’d say that your myxyz.com is a development/staging version so wouldn’t require a license. Does that sound correct?

    Cheers, Ant

Hany, as long as you’re not running two different live sites with the same ExpressionEngine license you are within the license requirements. Having a development version of the same site running should be just fine.
