Is there a command to display all fields for an entry?

I have a few different channels with a large number of custom fields, and I’d like to dump all the current fields in the template view for helping build the templates.

Something similar would be the {debug} function in Smarty or print_r in PHP.

    Is this possible in EE?

    Thanks,

    ben

I don’t think this is exactly what you are asking for, but may provide what you want in the end.

    This page:
    http://expressionengine.com/wiki/Cheat_Sheet

gives a nice method of dynamically providing what you may be looking for.  I’ve built my own custom cheat sheet for our site which has specific information for our admins - so wouldn’t be much help for ya… but this method has saved us many hours

Thanks Mark. It’s not exactly what I was looking for, but it’s certainly handy. I’ll work this into the site for now.

    Hi taoglas,

Welcome to ExpressionEngine and the Forums!

What you are after isn’t available with ExpressionEngine, but there is a little workaround.

In the Channel Fields list, open the field group you are working with. From there you can click on the field’s name and the field and curly braces will be selected automatically for copy/paste.

Not perfect, but handy nonetheless 😊

    Cheers,
