Hi,

I just installed by first expression engine and for the most part really excited. I have a few questions on a future project. If anyone has any insight it would be great.

1. Does it allow for a admin to approve new/edited documents from editors and set them as published. Ie. the editor can only make changes and make new documents in the backend but can push them live.

2. Does it allow for members groups to restrict to specific folders in the file manager. Ie. If I’m logged in as an editor I can only view a specific folder specific to my members group permissions.

Hi rootlock welcome to the forums

1. Admin approval
Yes you can do that. Create a new status or two in the Channel(s) where you want this to apply, eg Pending, Draft etc. Then in Channel preferences you can select the default status for new entries (eg Pending).

2. File folders per member group
In File manager>File upload preferences you can restrict access to each upload destination to specific member groups. Depending on your set up you may need to create a few different upload destinations to match your needs.
