Hi all,

I’ve been following instructions on how to upgrade my version of expression engine:

However when at step 6 running the wizard the wizard won’t load.

I’ve changed the path of my system file to the correct value and turned on debugging.

I get the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /homepages/28/d238939662/htdocs/sites/ExpressionEngine/motosystem08/installer/core/Installer_Config.php on line 44

Thank you, i did contact my host and got my versions of PHP and MySQL upgraded.

The install has now completed and i’ve uploaded the latest site manager. However in the new control panel a lot of the features aren’t working.

Here are some that i have found, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated:

On the top menu bar of the control panel that reads content, design, add ons etc, the links are blank, they don’t go anywhere. So i can’t access things like add-ons etc

My other sites aren’t working despite installing the latest multi-site manager.

There’s a number of the images missing from the control panel e.g. the search button and quick links icon

I’m getting PHP warnings on a number of pages e.g.

The pages that where visible before can’t be seen to edit the html and css

I’m sorry you have had so much trouble getting through the upgrade process! I’m here to help!

With the trouble you are having with the Control Panel, the first place to check is your /themes folder. Did you make sure to update your /themes folder when you uploaded ExpressionEngine 2?

My other sites aren’t working despite installing the latest multi-site manager.

Make sure you have updated the index.php files for these sites with a copy of the version included with ExpressionEngine 2. It is also safe to remove path.php, as it is no longer required. You will also need to copy admin.php for Control Panel access. Read over the updated MSM User Guide for a step-by-step process.
