We recently transferred over our database and site over to a new server and the site is up and running fine. However, any part of the CP is extremely sluggish and mostly unresponsive (if it loads it will take 2-3 minutes compared to a fraction of a second). I have not had this issue in the past so I have no idea why this is the case.

We are using the same technology on the old box which is

    Cent OS 6 64bit
    Nginx

All the other technologies remain almost identical however the CP is basically unresponsive. Is there anyway to resolve this?

    Cheers,
    Whey

    Hi whey,

Are you using NSM Add-on Updater? It can cause extreme slowdown, particularly after a server move.

If you are using NSM Add-on Updater, disable that and let me know if the Control Panel speeds up again. If not? Let me know that too so we can go a little deeper.

    Dan,

We are not using the NSM Add-on Updater. However, we are a few versions behind from latest release (v2.2.2) which I was going to update after transfer was up and running fine. I don’t know if I should perhaps try to run the update and see if the new release fixes it? I don’t think it has to do with the older version though.

Let me know what your suggestions are.

    Cheers,

Any suggestions? We are trying to get back to development and conclude the launch on the new server however, until we fix this issue it is not viable.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

I changed the timezone in php.ini to be the same as the servers configured timezone and it seems to have fixed the issue.

    Hi Andrew,

I’m glad you were able to track this one down. That would have been a bear to troubleshoot! Thanks for posting your solution!

If you need us again in the future, let us know in a new thread.

    Cheers,
