Hi guys, here comes the problem.

Fresh install of EE and EE forum, uding default forum skin, and the problem comes to this:
i (and no one else fo that matter) is not allowed to post anything or make any threads.

I checked the membergroup perms, and everything seems ok o_0 members are allowed everything, and i guess superadmins are also.

tried to post with admin account, with testmember account, same result…

    Am i missing anything?
i have searched the forums, the web and the documentation. Nothing helped my forums.
New member, superadmin, guest.. doesn’t matter, same answer “You are not authorized to perform this action”

Can the issue be connected to MAMP Pro I’m using?

What version of EE / Forum?  Definitely use the latest versions of ee and forum.  I see you also posted this last August, before ee 2.4 was released without any forum community replies.

In the 2.4 user guide it states:

By default, ExpressionEngine expects user’s browsers to send a valid IP address and User Agent information. This is meant to help prevent hacking attempts. Some firewalls and other third-party software installed on the user’s computer might block this information.

    This requirement can be disabled:

If the Control Panel can be accessed, it is possible to simply turn off the “Require IP Address and User Agent for Login?” and “Require IP Address and User Agent when receiving comments?” settings in Admin › Security and Session Preferences.

The settings can also be overridden by adding the following line to the config.php file:

    $config[‘require_ip_for_login’] = “n”;

    Good luck

    Alavi,

I’m sorry you are experiencing this issue. Enviromed’s suggestion to use the require_ip_for_login is a good one. Also could you tell me what version of ExpressionEngine you are using and what version of the forums software?

Thank you for your replies 😊

i Have tried the no ip option, and also secure option. No changes whatsoever.

The version is not up to date, since we had put the product in the drawer after getting no responses the last time 😛

I’ll update to 2.4 today, and report here on the success.

    Alavi,

Excellent, am looking forward to a progress report after you upgrade to 2.4.
