I think google has slapped me out of its rankings.
I launched my website Silver By Mail about 2 weeks ago now and i was ranked #23 on google after 1 week of backlinking. Great I though so I started making more backlinks and creating more content expecting my site to gradually climb into the top 10.

Ever since my site has fallen out of the google search listings, and now the only way i can get my site up in google is by searching is by searching for site:www.silverbymail.net

Could anybody shed any light on this.

Google has some really good tools to help you get ranked properly without trying to force it.

I had a job interview once, and the guy said
‘How can i get listed high in googles rankings quickly?’

    my answer was
‘Well, if you want to stay high ranked, there isnt really a quick way to do it, its something that has to be built up slowly overtime.  If you have a product that people beleive in, they will help you from reviews, backlinks on other sites and more.’

His response was ‘Nope! I managed to do it instantly.  I just put a lot of keywords on pages on my site, and hid them using white text on a white background’

I just looked at him and thought ‘You fool.. you big fool’  but instead i said ‘Well, thats defintitely a way to get listed high quickly, but its also a surefire way not to stay there too. as you’ll get black listed by google.’

he seemed adamant that it worked, and I knew nothing about SEO.  I didnt get the job, and to be honest, i dont really want to be working with people like that!

This is so true with google. If you play pushy for your site the site may get delisted and that is a nightmare. A steady and slow approach always lead to a successful result.

Try to promote your website using effective back link building. SEO process will take some time to give good result. If you try to rush up then Google will ban your website.
