I have an account that I use to purchase EE licenses at my day job. Currently getting a 15% bulk discount on licenses. I have another account that I use for freelance. Is it “wrong” to buy licenses with the bulk discounted account and then transfer to my other account? Thanks!

    Hello TGP,

Thank you for posting your question.

I had to double check this with my Supervisor because it sounds like maybe you should not be able to, right? Not the case though, you are welcome to do that and continue to enjoy that nice discount. 😊

For clarity, please understand that EllisLab is the exclusive dealer of EE licenses. What this means is that you cannot purchase licenses with one account and then resell them by transferring to another account. Does that make sense?

Bottom line is that it is okay to buy and transfer a license as long as you are not reselling them.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

    Cheers,
