Ok,
this has troubled me today and I’m beginning to wonder is my whole EE workflow a little off. Broadly speaking I’m currently building my sites in EE by creating a template group for each channel and then creating a sub-template for my sub pages (like in Mike Boyink’s hugely helpful tutorials). This system has been fine when working with some conditionals that load separate styles but I’m now faced with a situation where I have 4/5 completely different templates within each channel.
This isn’t ideal but it’s ok, I can build out the templates and just send the necessary pages to them, it makes it tough for the client to add pages but it’s not debilitating.
One thing that I can’t get beyond is how in the search form can I set an autopath for the results if the template is going to change based on the channel post. Similarly when I’m listing my sub pages in the sub navigation, how can I list these to go to a separate template without having to use a whole load of conditionals.
I’m guessing the long and short answer is the ‘pages’ module? Any help would be great
