    Hi

A charity client of ours can no longer login to their CP. The error they get is:

    “Unable to parse XML data”

Recently their internal IT department did install Joomla in its own directory on the same server as EE. No doubt this has something to do with the above error.

Short of asking them to uninstall Joomla etc. could you please advise as to how we can get around the above error? Do you think Joomla is the issue or could it be something else?

The site is running EE 1.7.1

    Many thanks

    Hello Bluebloc,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem.

    Let’s try and troubleshoot this.

Were there any changes to to ExpressionEngine at all?

There is so little to this error, I am really not sure what to do with it. I need some more information if you do not mind providing it.

What changes were made server wise (to the OS, or Apache, PHP, MySQL, etc.) for Joomla?

Are you able to get into the Control Panel at all? Would love to enable debugging.

Is it possible to look at the Apache error log? I am assuming this is a LAMP stack environment, but if not, then the appropriate access and error logs will do.

I am sorry for all the questions, but the answers may bring us closer to the resolution.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers,
