I have copied the production web site and database and installed them on my laptop. I changed all references to the production website (using DEEPLOY HELPER) from the production installation (http://www.abc.com) to the development server (127.0.0.1/XAMPP/EE2.4.0/mysite). When I publish a new data element, after the update is done, the browser attempts to access the production server (control panel). Since I am not logged in to production it presents the control panel and I can then back out of it. The update/add seems to have completed successfully but it is unclear what else may have happened. This must mean that there is another place where the original production website URL is stored but I have been unable to find it. Any thoughts?

Let’s close this issue. I just found that the original developer had installed an extension called SC Publish Redirect. It was responsible for redirecting me to the production website. I am making the necessary changes to rectify that issue. Thanks.
